Portable Bluetooth AP
The jinoux bluetooth ap allows you to transfer data to other Bluetooth-enabled devices including computers, PDAs and printers as well as to gain Internet access through a connected network.Offering access to local area networks (LANs) with devices enabled with Bluetooth technology such as Pocket PC PDAs, Palm PDAs, notebooks, desktop PCs, and mobile phones, the Bluetooth Access Point with USB Print Server offers connectivity to the Internet, corporate LAN, and home networks. It also enables any USB printer to be accessed via a Bluetooth connection when connected through the Access Point's USB print server ports. At the same time, the product functions as a USB print server where the printer can be visible to the entire wired LAN, which allows the connected USB printer to be accessed by any client on the wired LAN. Up to seven users can simultaneously share the Internet, the LAN, or print to a USB printer via a Bluetooth connection. It features two USB type A connectors, an RJ45 Ethernet port, and the front has seven multicolored LEDs that depict connection activity quickly and easily.
The Access Point requires no manual configuration. It can be installed and start running in under two minutes, needing only a power source and an Ethernet connection, according to the manufacturer. The IP is obtained automatically via DHCP upon power-up or can be set by any Bluetooth client.
If you've got a Bluetooth-enabled device that you want to use to surf the Net and do emails, this is a great, affordable solution. It's much easier and faster than using Windows connection sharing if you want to get your device online. Setup is quick and simple.you will have no trouble getting a signal anywhere in your small offices, and could even go outside about 30 feet when using it at home.
Installation is straight forward: plug the jinoux bluetooth ap into your wired network using a standard CAT5 Ethernet cable. If you're using DHCP, the unit should pick up an IP address and you probably won't have to do anything else! Generally, setting up an access point is the easiest step in creating a jinoux bluetooth ap network. Just connect to it with your Bluetooth-enabled Palm OS PDA, Pocket PC or another computer running Bluetooth. The jinoux bluetooth ap will assign your PDA an IP address and DNS info and you'll be ready to surf the Net.
If you'd like to share a USB printer with Bluetooth-enabled Windows PCs you can install the USB print server utility provided on the included CDROM. You'll need to install the printer driver (if you haven't already done so) as a local, not network printer, then select the Bluetooth serial port for that printer. This uses the Serial Port Profile, which should be provided in your computer's Bluetooth software, and creates a virtual COM port for the printer.
You can also create up to 8 users, each with their own passwords, if you wish to specify which Bluetooth devices are allowed on your network. Some Bluetooth devices require a password before they'll connect.
